The Angry Birds Movie
Director: Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly
Cast: Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph
The movie is about the cranky red bird (Sudeikis) who is sentenced to anger management sessions by the court, where he meets three other outcasts. When a ship full of green pigs arrive, there is no stopping the newly-formed bird gang. The film is full of mad energy
and silly jokes, and is perfect for those who can keep cynicism at bay.

Director: Anu Menon
Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Kalki Koechlin, Rajat Kapoor
Addressing the age-old issues of suffering, grief and coping with loss, the movie shows two lives waiting for their better halves to come out of their comatose conditions. Tara (Koechlin) is temperamental, volatile and filled with young energy, while Shiv (Shah) is a wise man who guides her to a state of calm. Don’t miss watching these two brilliant actors give a stirring performance in Menon’s second directorial venture.

Cast: Simbu, Nayanthara, Andrea
A love story laced with humour, the director seems to have banked on the chemistry between the lead pair to carry it through. Soory’s contribution cannot be ignored. The first half is interesting and enjoyable. It’s in the second that the screenplay flounders. The narration seems to get stuck, the director apparently at a loss on how to continue the on-off love saga. Though it’s not one of the best scripts to come from a director of Pandiraj’s calibre, the film is a fairly pleasant one-time watch.
