Fans of the Kardashian-Jenner clan were in for a shock as the 21-year-old supermodel, Kendall Jenner, deleted her Instagram page for a week-long detox. Although, she is back, her sister, Kim Kardashian, has been AWOL from social media since a traumatic robbery earlier this year. Here are a few others who took the plunge, to stay away from trolls and haters.
The 22-year-old posted a few pictures with his latest fling, Sophia Richie, a few months ago. Fans posted a slew of hateful comments and fellow singer and ex- girlfriend Selena Gomez also chipped in with her opinions on the matter. This made Bieber delete his Instagram account. Fans are still waiting for a revival.
After a public feud with Bieber, the 24-year-old singer stopped posting on her Instagram account and also disabled fans from commenting on her photos. In a speech at the American Music Awards this past Sunday, Gomez revealed that she has been taking time off to recover from Lupus, an autoimmune disease.
The Star Wars starlet deleted her Instagram page after posting her opinion on gun violence this August. Her 2.3 million fans did not take lightly to that, complaining that the British actress does not know much about gun rights in the US. They also called her a hypocrite as she uses guns in her movies. “I just want to be on my phone, less,” she was quoted as saying.
The singer from the American girl band Fifth Harmony quit Twitter this August because of the racially charged hateful messages she was receiving. She admitted that she knows she’s neither the first nor the last black celeb to deal with abuse, but “…I can’t subject myself any
longer to the hate”. Her Twitter page is now run by her PR team.
Almost a year ago, this 25-year-old British singer announced on his Instagram page (@teddysphotos) that he would be taking a break from his phone because “…I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes.” The singer was reportedly working on his next album during this time.
