Suhani Pittie explores the planets through geometry

Known for her bold designs, Hyderabad-based Suhani Pittie has firmly placed herself at the top of the list of leading jewellery designers in the country.

Favoured by everyone from Bollywood celebs to socialites, her latest collection, Innerstellar is a study in black and gold. Geometric shapes take centrestage, while uncut crystals and pearls also make an appearance. She tells us more about the line and her other projects.

    Inspiration for Innerstellar.
A slight fascination with the bigger picture, the universe with all its galaxies. I wanted to take their wholesomeness and make a humble attempt at capturing their glory.

    Key pieces from the line.
The three moon necklace and the round hassle with perspex. Both are strong pieces, beautifully styled, and will work with practically everything one wears. Most importantly, they respectfully combine the aura of the heavenly planets in their shapes.

Best way to style the collection.
They are modern in their styling, bold in their approach, but humble in their DNA. So they are as beautiful with Western as with Indian ensembles.

Challenges involved in creating the line.
Everytime, to come undone and do better than what I did yesterday is a challenge. To be all but to be new. It’s never easy.

What else is in the pipeline?
Lots. Keep watching. The upcoming Lakme Fashion Week, is next on my
    agenda.
