The Royalty India, a youth tabloid, celebrated their first anniversary this weekend, at the Crowne Plaza with a fashion show and fund raiser in association with Satya Paul. Wanting to raise awareness about the Guild of Service, Roshni S Hemdev, founder of The Royalty India, put together a fun event. Signature drapes by Satya Paul, that also inspired a specially curated line by Studio 9696, along with clean lines and red carpet style for men, courtesy Gabbana were spotted. The models included Sonia Aggarwal, Vimmi Deepak, Sneha Nair, Divya Darshini and Anshul Pandey, who did a good job getting the crowd ready for the main event, the kids, who gave their celebrity counterparts a run for their money.
Meanwhile at GRT Grand, the Sutra Foundation released it latest pictorial book Quintessential Sutra telling the stories of the Foundation’s journey in 130 cities over the past 35 years through pictures taken by A Prathap. The launch saw artists, diplomats and friends of founder Ramli Ibrahim, including Anita Ratnam, who shared their experiences of learning under the same guru and travelling the world with dance. She said “our guru Adyar K Lakshman, was able to create an entire margham — a new choreography and transferred it to Ramli’s body that was trained for ballet.” Amongst the dignitaries present were Kyungsoo Kim, Consulate General of the Republic Korea, Hares Lisot, Consulate General of Malaysia and Kayoko Furukawa, Consulate General of Japan.
Meanwhile, in Bengaluru, fashion designer Ramesh Dembla and Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar presented India’s first men’s fashion week, called India Luxury Style Week. The event saw attendance by designers like Vivek Karunakaran, who showcased his Sea Biscuit collection at the event.
