Fun Mill is the new place on the block to keep your little ones busy
A busy toddler makes for a happy one. Parents are constantly looking for activity centres that cover play and holistic development of their kid. We find one such place tucked away in the quiet lanes of Kilpauk, in an independent house covering two floors. This activity centre promises not to be a run of the mill pre-school but a centre which believes play is work and focuses on child development and prepares them to get into main stream school eventually.
“We have a morning programme called Mighty Mind, which is an early learners programme and Giggle which is a mom-and-me program, for children below the age of two,” says Lubna Khan, one of the founders of the school and a Montessori teacher. Her two other partners are Diana Mathew a special educator and Sowmya Surendranathan, a speech and language pathologist. Their evening programme includes Little Yogis which is predictably a yoga class for kids aged three and above. For those who find yoga to be too sedate, Jiggles, another creative movement and dance class for kids, includes activities like jumping, stretching and rolling.
“We have a rip line for kids where they hang parallel to the shoulders, a jungle gym which includes monkey bars, rope ladders, wall climbing and the ball pool which is an-all time-favourite,” says Khan. They plan to start martial arts and gymnastics shortly. Their weekend programmes include clay modeling, T-shirt designing, flower arrangement and Van Gogh painting. Weekend programmes are priced between `200 and `500. Details: funmill.in
