THIS week saw a generous dose of art, even as the city geared up to celebrate the harvest festival. Artist Manohar Chiluveru’s show, Odyssey, was inaugurated at Shrishti Art Gallery last Tuesday. He wowed the art lovers with his installations crafted from cardboard and newspapers. Spotted at the event were Laxma Goud, Anju Poddar and guest of honour Shilpa Reddy.
Art soirées continued as self-taught artist Rangoli Garg showcased her works titled ‘Cryptic Thoughts’ at the Muse Art Gallery, Hyderabad Marriott Hotel & Convention Centre. It was hosted by Adil Mohammed and curated by Kaali Sudheer. The canvasses, themed on the Indian woman, garnered positive reviews from those who had gathered. Artist Sravanthi Juluri, Bharati Rajwani Kutoor and Ayesha Lakhotia were also present along with Sherry Javeri.
Meanwhile, heralding the celebration of winter festivals – Sankranti, Lohri and Pongal – socialite Shikha Sharma hosted a pre-Lohri gathering for her friends and family at Summer Green Resort in Shameerpet. The ladies showed up in traditional Punjabi attire, replete with parandas and Patiala suit. The best part of the evening was when the guests got together and grooved to the beats of dhol before digging into a lavish dinner spread.
