Gopaisa is a one-stop platform for the thrifty shopper

Online shoppers must be familiar with the rush they feel when they see the product they’ve been eyeing from a distance  at unreal discounted rates on their e-commerce website of choice. But what if we told you, you could get an even better deal on the very same product from a website affiliated to the one you frequent on a daily basis? GoPaisa, launched recently, offers just that. Started by brothers Aman and Sugam Jain, the platform has tie-ups with popular sites like Myntra, Jabong, Zivame and FreeCultr, and offers cash back and cash rewards on already discounted prices. “It’s a very simple concept. We’re all bargain hunters by nature. And by trying us out, a consumer, who is already an online shopper has nothing to lose,” says Sugam, an alumnus of Nottingham University, UK.

    Rocky beginnings
It was not always smooth-sailing for the duo. When they just launched, they were struggling to get even a paltry 50 transactions per day. Now, with their latest, exclusive tie-up with Flipkart, their transactions have skyrocketed to 1,000 a day, with an estimated projection of 3,000 by the end of the year. “By getting a whole new influx of Flipkart customers, we’re also able to increase the sales of other websites by directing new traffic their way,” Sugam informs us.

Apart from retail sites, you can also choose from a range of travel websites like Expedia, Yatra, Makemytrip and RedBus which, Sugam tells us, have the highest discounts and rewards on offer. A few other brands listed on their website include Dominoes, Tradus, Paytm, Food Panda and FernsnPetals, covering any need you might have.

The cash back you accumulate can be transferred to your bank account or used for mobile and DTH recharges or gift vouchers too. “So it’s like actual money,” Sugam enthuses and cites the example of his neighbour, who accumulated so much in such a short span that he used it to buy himself a brand new smartphone. A GoPaisa app is expected by the end of June this year.
