Pooches gear up for a gourmet meal this weekend
Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a lunch date with your dog with zero restrictions? Well, here’s your chance to have some fun with your four-legged friend and other dog parents. PlateHopper and DoggyBox have come together to create the perfect weekend treat for your pet and you at ‘Pooches Go Platehopping’. Sangeetha Arjun, the co-founder of PlateHopper — a platform where people come together and bond over home cooked food, says, “We’re co-hosting this event with DoggyBox. They’re a Bengaluru-based company and make home-cooked food for dogs, which can be ordered online.”
Hosted by Manish Gowda, the owner of DoggyBox, the event is designed to keep the pooches happy. On the agenda is an elaborate three-course doggie meal. Speaking about the menu, christened ‘The Pooch Menu’, he says, “The spread includes Puppermint Eggs, which are basically, deviled eggs with spinach, yogurt and mint. For main course, we have Chicken Pawsta with minced chicken breast, and veggies including carrot, capsicum and zucchini. For dessert, the doggies will be served a Peanut Butter and Banana Pupsicle — a popsicle-type treat .”
For Arjun, the aim is to give pooches something to do over the weekend. “Considering the amount of awareness people are creating about dogs, we want to have a day for them to meet up and bond with other dogs. Because there are no places for them to go over the weekends, most often they’re just at home. The idea is to bring them together and help them have a good time.” Talking about what the ‘guests’ can expect at the event, she says, “We’re going to have balls placed around the open air space. The owners can chat with each other while their pets make friends and savour the healthy meal.” While your dogs chow down on their food, you can sip on some Virgin Mojitos (or bring your own alcohol), sample Italian pizzas or even make your own pizza with PlateHopper’s wood-fired oven.
