Season of sequels
Rumours about the possibility
of a potential sequel to 3 Idiots seem to be getting stronger by the day. Aamir Khan expressing his interest to be a part of the sequel only added fuel to the fire. Reports claim screenwriter Abhijat Joshi is already working on the script of the untitled sequel. In a recent press meeting, the screenwriter stated he already had an idea for the 3 Idiots sequel, a Munna Bhai part three and a PK sequel. Though Joshi clarified, “So, I think the 3 Idiots sequel may happen in the future, but these two (PK and
Munna Bhai) I really want to work on.” Meanwhile, all eyes are on Khan’s big release, Dangal. Shabana Azmi even tweeted about his unique birthday gift for her—a special screening of the film—and was all praise for
the director and the
performances in the film.
She had a dream launch with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, a Yash Raj production. She also bagged the opportunity to work with Yash Chopra in Jab Tak Hai Jaan. But it looks like Anushka Sharma has managed to play the quintessential Yash Chopra heroine only now, in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Director Karan Johar, a self-confessed Chopra fan, made sure she was dressed in the trademark chiffon sari and swayed on top of a glacier in Austria—reminiscent of the Sridevi-Rishi Kapoor pairing from Chandni. While Ranbir Kapoor is trying to replicate his dad’s charm, Sharma has the more difficult task of matching up to the gorgeous Sridevi. Meanwhile, we hear that the 28-year-old actress and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are the new best friends in town. Though they don’t share much screen time, they reportedly hit it off the moment they met. Sharma was over the moon when the senior complimented her on her choice of films and styling,
say sources on the set.
Ever since she announced her pregnancy, all eyes are fixed on Kareena Kapoor Khan. But the soon-to-be-mommy is on a rampage and lashed out at the media for covering the news of her impeding motherhood as a ‘national casualty’. Sources close to her say that she also felt targeted when Deepika Padukone stated, “I am not getting married and I am not pregnant,” when asked about her marital status. The 35-year-old star is miffed with the unsaid implication that actresses who go the family way are no longer serious about their career or scare producers away. While Khan is gearing up to begin shooting for her next film, Veere Di Wedding, one of her most-awaited films, rumours are rife that she has been dropped from this Rhea Kapoor production post her baby bump. However, Sonam Kapoor, who is playing a major role in it, has silenced all detractors by stating that Khan will indeed do her sibling’s film.
After three successful movies in the Golmaal franchise, Rohit Shetty is ready with the script of the fourth. While Ajay Devgn will continue to be the lead actor, the lead actress hasn’t been finalised. First it was reported that Alia Bhatt was offered the role. Then news seemed to suggest that Shraddha kapoor was doing the part. Now the latest rumour is that Parineeti Chopra has signed on the dotted line. Quite a merry-go-around for director. Will Parineeti fill in Rimi Sen and Kareena Kapoor
