    Missing in action
Despite all and sundry raving about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s look in
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, she seems to be studiously staying out of the film’s promotions. Well, the word around tinsel town is that the Bachchans weren’t too pleased with her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor. Neither Abhishek nor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted the ADHM trailer despite Ash being a part of it and Karan Johar being a family friend. Meanwhile, the actress seems to have decided to mend things in the household and has decided to stay away from the promotions of ADHM. An industry insider tells us sarcastically, “Reports have been doing the rounds claiming that Aishwarya needs to give time to Aaradhya which is why she won’t be travelling with the team.” She has forgotten she travelled abroad to shoot. Also, for her previous films—Jazbaa and Sarbjit—she went all out for promotions.
We wonder what happened with ADHM.

    Back on track
Ranbir Kapoor who was once considered aloof and inaccessible is apparently going all out to spruce up his image. He called up Shoojit Sircar and admitted that Pink was an overwhelming experience for him, as did he to Irrfan Khan for Madaari, sayin that he felt the actor deserved a Bharat Ratna. In an interview he joked that he wanted to be the ‘male version of Sonam Kapoor.’ Quite understandable as his last release, Bombay Velvet was a colossal failure and he is putting all his hope on the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. A little PR exercise never hurt any actor.

    Next in line
Inferno director Ron Howard recently tweeted his joy on working with Irrfan Khan in the movie, which releases in India on October 14 via Sony Pictures Entertainment in India (before its release in the US). A new poster of the film was unveiled on Friday for the Indian market. It features Tom Hanks in one frame, Hanks and Felicity Jones in another and the third frame sees Irrfan suited up, sporting an intense look. Howard returns to direct the latest bestseller in Dan Brown’s billion-dollar Robert Langdon series, Inferno, which finds the famous symbologist (Hanks) on a trail of clues tied to the great Dante himself. The sequel to The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons also stars Omar Sy, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Ben Foster, along with Felicity Jones. It has been shot extensively across locations in Italy, Istanbul and Budapest. Meanwhile Khan is also likely to be part of the sequel to 2007 hit Life In A Metro.

    Staying low
After a brilliant performance in Kapoor & Sons, Fawad Khan has become a Karan Johar favourite. That would explain why he was picked over Shah Rukh Khan as the first guest on the upcoming season of Koffee With Karan. But all hell broke loose when Fawad and other Pakistani artistes found themselves under fire after the Uri attack with MNS asking them to leave India. We now hear that SRK is back in the opening episode of the chat show’s sixth season. He and Alia Bhatt will promote their film Dear Zindagi on the show. Incidentally, MNS has also targeted King Khan for including Pakistani actress Mahira Khan in his upcoming project. Meanwhile, rumour has it that Johar has stretched his guest appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and even put himself in the promos and songs, probably in a bid to avoid promoting the Pakistani actor in any manner. According to speculations, another reason for dropping the handsome actor is because he is expecting his second child next month with his wife’s delivery scheduled around the same time the show goes on air.
