The usually quiet stretch of beach along the East Coast Road is all set to roar with pulsating electronic dance music from dusk to dawn next weekend. The fifth edition of the Sunrise Festival is bound to test the party animal in you—can you keep up the spirits for a solid 12 hours?
The previous edition of the all-night festival saw around 2,500 revellers, mostly from metros across South India, driving down to Pondicherry for the event. The location, right next to the Bay of Bengal where partygoers can welcome the sunrise and the exciting line-up of DJs are the highlights of the beach party, say the organisers. Nine DJs including two from Pondicherry (Lee and Sleep-walker) will get behind the console to unleash a frenzy of dance beats. But the star attraction of the night is Portuguese DJ Kura, who has consistently featured in ‘Top 100 DJ’ lists in the British magazine djmag.
The new addition to look forward to this year are food trucks from Bangalore that would offer wraps, sandwiches, burgers, Indo-Chinese dishes and desserts through the night.
City-specific travel and accommodation packages including special tariffs for students are available on sunrisefestival.in
