Studio O specialises in luxe men’s wear and bespoke services
A DEGREE in finance, and a stint as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs later, Olivia Thomas realised she wanted to change tracks. She then trained in pattern making and garment construction at Mount Carmel College to get started on her dream job. Six months ago, Studio O, specialising in men’s ready to wear and bespoke services, was launched. Her current collection is themed around the revival of masculine elegance. “At Studio O, elegance and masculinity work together to create occasion wear and urban basics,” explains Thomas. The garments include kurta sets, bundis, shirts and jackets. While the kurtas come in soft colours, light weights with a certain luminosity in the finish, the others are sleekly tailored. Each piece is a merger of cotton and silk, great for day or night.
After working at Paresh Lamba Signatures for a while, Thomas set up her own label. “Studio O aims at quality, affordable, renewable, fashion, offering buyers an option apart from over-priced stores in the city, ” she explains. We particularly like the simple elegance of the bundi collection in soft lilac, peach, emerald and off white with fine design detailing.Thomas also recommends a printed silk shirt from her collection. “The multi-hued geometric prints make it a visual treat while synthesis between technology and tradition did not deter the fluidity of the fabric,” she shares.
Studio O also extends itself to made-to-measure services for men and women, taking about two weeks to complete orders.
