    The Chennai Storytelling Festival kicks off today at 5 pm at the Andhra Mahila Sabha. It will span five evenings, with seven storytellers in every session. While English is the primary language, on Sunday (at 6 pm) there will be a session in regional languages. Tuesday (at 8 pm) will see a webcast-based global video conference, on the different ways of storytelling. Storytelling scholar, Ruth Stotter from California will be the MC on all five days.

    Chennai International Film School, Asmita, is hosting a short film competition. The top 20 films will be screened at Kamala Theatre, and the teams behind the top five films will get to attend a one-day workshop with cinematographer Ravi K Chandran.
