Style and the City, the travel-meets-fashion series, will take you across the country to scout for latest trends, fashion secrets and style mantras with well-known designers such as Nishka Lulla, Anaita Shroff Adajania, Nikhil Thampi, Raakesh Agarvwal and Kunal Tanna. Taking you literally into the celebrity’s closet (this time Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Malaika Arora-Khan, Huma Qureshi and Rana Duggubati’s, among others), actor and host Kirat Bhattal divulges more.
Tell us about your transition.
As an actor, you’re playing certain characters and sticking to the script, but as a host, you can be yourself. In fact, it’s been fun making my guests on the show comfortable, where as in films that is what the director does.
Most appealing aspect of the show.
It is that we get to meet and showcase artisans of rare art forms. It’s an incredibly satisfying experience and also sad that a lot of these art forms are dying out.
Is there any particular theme?
We just go to any city we feel would serve as an inspiration and do justice to our outfit. Also, with the introduction of the ‘mood board’, our viewers will get to see the creative process that goes into sourcing and designing an outfit.
