After tributes to Abba and The Beatles, Michael Muthu brings us rock opera, PINK — A Floydian trip
According to Michael Muthu, PINK — A Floydian Trip is a rock opera that is unlike any of his previous works. And definitely nothing like the tribute concerts done so far, including the ones he had presented on Michael Jackson, ABBA and The Beatles. “We will be telling the story of Pink, the drug crazy rock stars from The Wall.
We are interweaving a lot of other songs from various Floyd albums into The Wall. They add to the essence of the story,” begins Muthu who is hoping to get all loyal Floyd fans together with this opera that will feature live music, theatre and dance. They will be featuring songs like Dark Side of the Moon, Division Bell and Wish You Were Here.
An equal music
A huge Floyd fan himself, Muthu who lists Have a Cigar as his alltime favourite, finds Floyd’s songs dark and intriguing with deep and intense lyrics. He is confident about bringing in the young crowd, “Floyd is all about great music. He just reaches out to anybody who appreciates good music. His music will move you and he speaks of human nature,” offers Muthu.
City rock band Roxygen will perform with regulars like Timothy Madhukar, Jim Sathya, Sudhir Prabhakar and several known names from the Indian music scene. There will be a special rendition of Another Brick in the Wall by children from Vocalz Station. The choreographer is Anusha Swami.
On November 30 at 7 pm. Tickets are available on eventjini.com
