Best Kept Secret’s Behram Siganporia on their new single
Behram Siganporia, the lead singer of Bengaluru’s Best Kept Secret, is tired of his chocolate boy image.
“In our new music video, we are a little ruffled and dirty. It’s not the look our fans are used to,” he says, adding, “I think this video is like a transformation for the whole band.”
Best kept Secret started out as One Nite Stand fours years ago. It was an impromptu decision to play at a friend’s wedding that brought the four musicians together. The band now consists of Siganporia, Jonathan Anand Wesley, Hemanth Diwakaran, and EK Abhilash.
Their new single, Can’t Let You Go, is best described as electropop with a dark streak. The lyrics were penned by their songwriter, George Sebastian. The song has been produced by Ashish Manchanda, who has been involved with projects like Coke Studio, MTV Unplugged and The Dewarists.
The video stars the popular actress Parvatii Nair and follows Siganporia as he tries to escape his past. “The video is a little steamy and it even features an onscreen kiss — a first for both Parvatii and me,” reveals Siganporia.
The vibe of the video is fresh and current. The aim is to reach out to an international audience. “We are the first Indian English band to do something of this scale. It’s nerve-wracking, but also a lot of fun,” says Siganporia.
Out today 7 am, on VH1.
