Medical experts bring back the family doctor concept
Born out of an ‘acute need to take care of near and dear ones during health and disease,’ Prana Healthcare joins the modern medical brigade. Bringing doctors, pathology lab services and nursing care to your doorstep, they aim to guide you through ‘the medical care maze’. Originally, the idea of PV Prakash and Narayan Rao, they were then joined by Dr Harsha Doddihal, and Murali Sridhar, completing the team, which takes care of operations, technology, sales and even business development in addition to overseeing the medical department.
“Convenience when needed the most is really the essence of Prana Healthcare. We know that time spent driving to a doctor’s office and waiting could be better spent simply resting. That’s why we provide you with access to doctors who will come to you, whenever and wherever you want,” explains Doddihal, adding that quality and compassionate care is their prime focus with lowering costs and better results, incidental.
For those who are skeptical about it, their professional process may put your mind at ease. Prana sets up the visit, the doctor visits you, requests blood tests if required and then they contact the lab and the tests. “Once that is done, the reports all directly go to the doctor, and he/she follows it up with tele-consultation or visits the customer to guide further,” explains the doctor, saying primary care and oncology is their forte.
They also provide nursing care if prescribed, and work with partners on this front. Their NRI package stands out, offering annual membership and includes regular doctor’s visits along with electronic health record for the NRI’s family living in India. A mobile app is set to be launched, to help liaise between patients and them. You can also expect a customer app, expected to launch in mid-March.
