Jugs offers an old-school pub experience

Right in the bustling Koramangala 5th block, Jugs resembles a Mediterranean tavern with its mint-green rocky walls, a low ceiling with stark white furniture, a white-washed bamboo bar and suspended glass jugs and cutesy fairy lights. Part of the Trump It group that boasts the two popular Opus hangouts, Jugs is perfect to catch-up with friends over pitchers and homely food.

    By the pitcher
While the pub is well-stocked with everything from whisky to tequila, they have a dedicated space for sangrias, mojitos, cosmopolitans, margaritas and LITs, both by the glass and pitcher. Reasonably priced, they are the perfect accompaniments to an evening of friendly banter. House-specials include the whisky-based Churchill and Harvard, the gin-based Blood Hound, tequila-based Japanese Slipper as well as interesting concoctions like the Green Hat (gin, lime cordial).

    On the hot plate
The food selection includes a range of comfort food like cheese-stuffed chicken breast, cheesy potato wedges, fish fingers, as well as mixed and mezze platters. The house-specials include the Oriental Chicken Wings with a tom-yum marinade and a sprinkling
of lemongrass – a delightful blend of spice and tangy and the

Chicken Marengo in the classic tomato and demi-glaze sauce with prawn and a side of fettucine in a creamy white sauce. The Fisherman’s Bake was a homely seafood velouté made with seer and garnished with dil and gratinated parmesan.
The crepe suzette is also a must try with its sauce of caramelised sugar and fresh orange juice, served with moistened chunks of fresh orange, this one is just warm enough for a cool December evening.
