Children’s art extravaganza, Berserk returns for a second time
BERSERK, organised by Sublime Galleria returns for a second edition and this time it’s even bigger and better. With prestigious academies like Lourd Vijay Dance School, Evam, Taaqademy and 3 Peel on board, the three-day conference to be attended by 110 shortlisted students promises to be packed with great learning experiences, expert tips, and engaging sessions to hone kids’ skills in dance, theatre, music and visual art.
The auditions, which begin on August 5, will see over 100 schools participating. This year, provisions have also been made for individual auditions, where kids, aged 8 to 14, can participate without having to represent their school. “Last year, there were quite a few talented children whose schools couldn’t participate. But now, with individual registration, no one has to miss out,” says co-ordinator Reenu Vijayakumar.
Visual art will be managed by 3Peel, who will be looking for factors like creativity, knowledge of techniques and quality of portfolios. The theatrically inclined will be judged on expression, voice and body language. Dancers will have to showcase their showmanship, techniques, timing and rhythm to the likes of Lourd Vijay and Chaldea “Dea” (of Pharell Williams’ Happy), while musicians must demonstrate good judgement on choosing the performance piece, originality and stage presence.
The residential conference from August 27 to 29, will culminate in a performance by all participants on the 29th at UB City.
