The month-old India Shell Museum in Mahabalipuram, a first of its kind in the country, boasts of over 40,000 varieties of shells collected by Raja Mohamed. Spread over an acre and located opposite the Five Rathas, it houses a shopping centre and aquarium as well. Entry is priced at `50 per person for the museum and `40 per head for the aquarium. Don’t miss the solo exhibition by National award-winning artist Yusuf Arakkal at DakshinaChitra. Titled A Journey in Solitude, the exhibition in collaboration with Galerie Sara Arakkal, Bangalore, takes place from December 7 to January 25.
