Some weeks just fly by in a tizzy, andAthe last one fit that bill perfectly. AfterAa grueling few weeks of juggling playApractice deadlines and a family thatAdemands your attention, it was greatAto be able to unwind and relax a bit.
But when one is enjoying oneself, theAminutes and hours in that week justAwhiz by donat they?AAfter a fairly successful fund raisingAtheatre event, my family decidedAthey wanted some private down time.ASo, over red wine sangrias and chickenAcacciatore at Smoke House Deli,Amy kids and I argued, laughedAuproariously and cemented ourAbonds over coffee and dessert. With aAwarm fuzzy feeling in my heart, myAfaith in the age-old adage was reaffirmedAa A family that arguesAtogether, stays together!
The next afternoon, I toddled off toAmeet my favourite designers SusanAFernandes and Anu Nagappa toAenjoy a champagne brunch withAthem at Susanas beautiful home.AThey had assembled a couple ofAdesigners who made bespoke handbagsAand stunning jewellery thatAcomplimented their beautiful newAprA?t line of clothes for the ongoingAfestive season. Needless to say, with aAresigned sigh, I succumbed to all thatAirresistible temptation, and walkedAaway with a big bundle of goodiesAunder my arm.
Good friend and travelling companion,ASumitra Senapathy, theAfounder of the WOW (Women OnAWanderlust) Club, invited theAa?pinka (her favourite colour) ladiesAto a small soirAe at home. It wasAwonderful to see a gaggle of womenAwanderers, all animatedly talkingAabout their forth coming tripsAor the fabulous vacations they hadAjust returned from. Itas great to seeAwomen, ranging from workingAprofessionals to housewives, soAexcited at the prospect of exploringAthe world on their own terms.
Hereas a thumbs down to all theAjaded men who think that whenAwomen get together, one can onlyAsee fur fly.APeople who say that, a?the way to aAmanas heart is through his stomachaAare wrong. You can warm the cocklesAof my heart by feeding me too! ThatasAexactly what happened at Alba, theAnew Italian restaurant at the JWAMarriott. I was invited to be a part ofAthe chefas table, where the delectableAnew Italian chef Bruno Ferrari (evenAhis name goes vroom) played host.
The dishes were irresistible as wasAthe chef. One didnat know whether toAcompliment the dishes or eye theAa?dishya Bruno!
