With some delicious new flavours and a lively ambience, IQ Bar of Mercure is set to be a winner

The lounge bar experience got a new address with the recent unveiling of the IQ bar in Mercure Hyderabad KCP, the latest entrant of Accor Hotels. The party goers in Banjara Hills and Somajiguda can relish some delish cocktails without necessarily embarking to the Jubilee Hills-Madhapur-Gachibowli stretch, that comprises some of the plush hotspots. “We want to show people that they don‘t have to go to the other end of the city to have a good time, when they can experience it all right here,” says Manali Banerjee, assistant manager, marketing.
The swanky venue boasts of a well-stocked bar, big television screens and a seating area that doubles up as a dance floor for private parties and weekends.

Contemporary concoctions
We tried the Mercure Passion, a classic martini with the distinct taste of cherry. However, if you are looking for something stronger, you can try the Aviation, a gin-based cocktail with cherry liqueur and a hint of lemon juice. For a more refreshing option, sip on the green apple and mint Daiquiri, a white-rum based drink with an enlivening aftertaste, courtesy the mint.
For those, who like it sweet, IQ bar‘s homemade liquers like Kahlua and Baileys are must try. The  flavours are rich and taste more like the sip of an ambrosial beverage than alcohol. The revellers in the mood for adventure, can try out the flaming shots. You can choose to have the shot directly, or to mix it with liqueur. Either way, it is bound to be an interesting experience.
Mocktail magic
Teetotallers need not be disheartened as some of the mocktails from the venue are highly recommended. The IQ passion comprising passion fruit, maple syrup, cinnamon, clove, vanilla extract and pineapple juice with some lemon is an invigorating option. Charges: `800 ++ for two
