A Facebook store gets an Alwarpet address, with saris, accessories and more.

My first impression of Dithi Studio, the new store in Alwarpet, is a wash of white. Walking through a white fenced gate, I find myself in a cozy store with white walls. But I change my mind when my eyes fall on the many splendoured collection of saris that owner Vaani Raghupati Vivek has curated from across the country. There’s nothing sober about them! The 28-year-old commerce graduate travels to cities like Delhi and Jaipur to source the multi-hued drapes. Though she’s been retailing clothes through Facebook since 2013, her brick-and-mortar store was launched last Sunday with saris, dress materials and accessories.
“Designing is purely out of passion, I haven’t undergone any workshop or course. It’s mostly self learning from books and online,” begins the city-based designer, who also provides customisation and bespoke options at the store. “Our aim is a one-stop shopping experience. While the rainbow is my inspiration, I feel corals, reddish pinks and pastel tones are trending this season,” shares Vivek, adding that they stock silks, cottons, tussars, bandinis, leharias, chiffons and georgettes. Picking cotton and rayon as ideal for the city weather, she says she follows designers Ritu Kumar and Rohit Bal.
Rs `2,000 onwards. At Alwarpet. Details: 9841983099
