FEATURING tie and dye technique and Kutchi bandhani work in her latest collection of wrap skirts, jump suits, dhotis, tops and dupattas, Nupur Kanoi is set to woo fashionistas who would like to go Indo-Western this summer.
Kanoi, known to give traditional crafts a western twist, has taken to crumpled cotton, satin and silk this time to suit travellers who wish to travel light and dress easy.
The collection, Traveling Trunk, which would go well when teamed with “bold and spunky earrings or belts and top knots and braids” has silhouettes which “allows the fabric to flow naturally and create beautiful drapes, giving comfort a priority,” says the designer.
Well suited for evenings, Kanoi has worked on the hues to suit the taste of Chennaiites by including yellow and orange, mixed with grey besides some deep pink and emerald.
With prime focus on tie and dye, the line also features a few floral prints, while Kanoi also showcases “asymmetrical tops, off shoulder wrap skirts, and airy, loose jumpsuits”.
“Having done more of Indian lines in the past in Chennai, this is the first time we will be showcasing Indo-Western line and I am looking forward to the reaction of Chennaiites,” shares Kanoi who will be present in the city for a day-long interaction. The 37-year-old celebrating 10 years of her label is excited about her first flagship store, that is to be unveiled in Kolkata in a couple of months.
