    Kick-off your weekend with a bang with Mobar’s new breakfast menu

    While the charming interiors of their Wood Street outlet, with its exposed brick walls and kitschy wall art, extends to the recently launched branch, Monkey Bar Indiranagar’s weekend breakfast menu features a host of new additions and we decided to check them out.

    Starting off with a steaming cup of masala chai to whet our appetite, we sampled the unusual Egg Kejriwal – a grilled pav dish topped with seasoning and cheese and a fried egg that was crisp on the edges and gooey in the centre – a must-try for every egg lover.

    Hearty bite
    If a heavy, meaty breakfast is your thing, we suggest you order the Cuban Sandwich. Loaded with protein, this one is filled with slow-roasted pulled pork, smoked ham, bacon bits, gruyere cheese, arugula omelette, mustard and tomato — definitely  not for the faint of heart. While we struggled unsuccessfully to finish the sandwich, as delicious as it was, the Granola Crunch went down easily and was gone in a flash. Healthy and lip-smackingly good at the same time, the dish comprises a large bowl of homemade granola with oats, dried cranberry, and sunflower and pumpkin seeds with some chilled nutella-flavoured milk. The sweetness of the milk, the tartness of the cranberry bits and the saltiness of the seeds gives it a beautiful blend of flavours and an added bonus is the feeling of a healthy start to your day.

    Toast to France is also on the heavier side and unlike the Wood Street version, this one features a spread of peanut butter, sandwiched between challah that is then soaked in milk, wine, cinnamon, orange zest, honey and vanilla and pan-fried.
