Ed Hardy opens its first store in the south in Bangalore
Inspired by Don Ed Hardy’s graphic tattoo designs and sketches, the iconic brand has reached a cult status across the globe for bringing the graphic sub-culture onto the main fashion stage. Having opened stores in Mumbai and New Delhi previously, the franchise has now changed hands to Arvind Lifestyle Brands, that promises to keep its aesthetic and high quality as top priorities.
The youth-oriented brand which offers a wide range of merchandise, finds its home in the city at the bustling Forum Mall in a store that stays true to its rustic, youthful appeal. Exposed brick walls give way to tattoo-printed wallpapers that literally reflect the graphic art featured on the merchandise. While the store currently features only men’s wear, we hear that their women’s line and accessories will soon follow.
The wide range of tees, for what they are best known, dominate the racks with their fine stretch cottons imprinted with graphics that are sure to inspire some body art. And while the tees cater to the more daring, their range of semi-formal shirts, trousers and shorts lean closer towards sombre yet suave fashion sensibilities. Denims also hold pride of place here, most of the styles either distressed or faded with several signature graphic hints.
All in all, the store offers Ed Hardy fans plenty to be pleased about with quite a bit to look forward to. Rs. 999 upwards. At Koramangala. Details: edhardyshop.com
