The model-hunt for Chennai is ready with its grand finale.
Tomorrow will see nearly 30 young men and women striking poses on the ramp at Hotel GRT Grand, as they vie for the Face of Chennai crown. A model hunt organised by Iris Events, it is in its last stage and finalists are eyeing three categories— Princess (18-23 years), Queen (24-30 years) and Prince (18-24 years). The event, which is
in its fifth year, has introduced the Prince category for first time for young men aspiring to enter the film and fashion industries. The hunt began in June, with 260 women and 160 men registering. The head of Iris Events, Latha A Krishna, says, “I started this hunt four years ago because, after organising numerous fashion shows in Chennai, I realised this city does not have as many models as Delhi or Mumbai.”
Designer Dilip Choyal (founder of Fashone) and choreographer Sanjay Asrani are on board, helping the models get ramp ready, while Jagadhish Raju of JAG Rapacious, is putting together their portfolios
Krishna shares, “Suja Suryanila, winner of last year’s Face of Chennai, has gone on to become a model and Miss Karnataka.”
Entry pass at Rs 500.
