Food lovers Rocky and Mayur talk about their new journey where they aim to shed some extra pounds

THEY are India’s most popular food enthusiasts on television and have the coveted job of sampling delicious cuisines across the country. Rocky Singh and Mayur  Sharma—who shot to fame as anchors of Highway on my Plate, on NDTV Good Times—are back with a new show, Get Fit with Rocky and Mayur. Turning their back on kebabs and gulab jamuns, they will be seen sweating it out. “We will be working out while on a journey across India. We’ll be eating too, but this time it will be to stay healthy,” says Singh. The duo aims to show that getting healthy does not mean quitting your favorite meals, but substituting them with healthier ones.
Speaking about their 15-week shoot, Sharma says, “We put in a lot of effort. We are known for eating tasty yet fatty foods, and this time it is completely different. At the beginning of the journey, my aim was to shed at least 10 kilograms and I have lost five already. However, Rocky has lost 15 kg.”
The show, which premiered last Sunday will comprise 13 episodes this season. Hoping that their fans will accept their new image, Singh says, “We aim to tell people that if we can stay fit with some focus and a few alterations in our diet, then anyone can be fit. And it is fun to stay fit, too.” The show will also follow Singh and Sharma as they try their hand at yoga, pilates, spinning and gym training, with special instructors.

Every Sunday, at 9.30 pm, on NDTV Good Times
