Kashmir food comes to town for those who have never been to the valley or have visited but feel nostalgic about its unique cuisine
While Spring is on its way and Kashmir valley is still wrapped in layers of snow, Taj Krishna is organising a Kashmiri Food Festival at its restaurant Firdaus. It will be a celebration of delicacies from the valley in an exclusive way as a chef is coming especially for the food festival all the way from Srinagar. The festival is from February 20 and will be on till February 28. It will be a lunch and dinner affair.
Those who still enjoy the chill in the air during night-time can enjoy Roghan Josh served with the choicest condiments from the valley. And of course there will be the traditional Kashmiri Pulao prepared with dry fruits and slivers of juicy red apples. Its fresh yellow colour is of course because of the presence of saffron. For accompaniments there will spicy Mutton Qorma prepared with Kashmiri red chillies that are known to give a dish its unique bright red colour which looks quite appetizing when served. There will be dishes of lotus stems of Dal Lake. Those who like Rista, which is pounded soft lamb dumplings simmered with saffron and Kashmiri chili curry, will enjoy its hot taste.
