Spa La Vie by L’Occitane comes to town

Nestled in the heart of Whitefield is Spa La Vie by L’Occitane, brought to India by Sanghvi Brands. With just two outlets in the country (the other being in Mumbai), L’Occitane started off as a retailer of beauty products including fragrances, creams, moisturisers and essential oils, in Provence, France in 1976. Its perfumed history is evident as I enter the reception area, reminiscent of sun-warmed blooms. After a cheery greeting and a cup of steaming herbal tea, I look around and take in the contemporary decor with hues of beige, yellow and brown. Very inviting.
Among the treatments, the revitalising Aromachologie massage comes highly recommended. It incorporates a mix of Swedish, Lomi Lomi and Balinese massage movements. My therapist, Athisha (who, like all their other therapists, has been trained at the L’Occitane Academy in Pune) shows me to my private suite. The head to toe massage is thorough and relaxing, and soon, I am in a state of calm. Then it’s a quick trip to the Warren Tricomi salon, which adjoins the spa, where I have a hair wash and blow-dry. “After the massage, the hair artiste ensures that the oil soaks into the scalp and roots,” explains Dr Vijay Aggarwal, director of operations and trainings. “Other global signature services like the Deep Tissue Intense Relief are also available,” he adds. I can’t wait to return.Rs 3,500 upwards. At Whitefield. Details: 42565705
