New singles inch their way to the top

Katy Perry’s Grammy performance number Dark Horse climbs to pole position exchanging spots with Lorde’s Team, while Calvin Harris, Pharrell and Pitbull juggle spots in the top five. As Afrojack and Bastille jump into the top ten, we give you the potential movers from the list.

    11. Top of the World – Mike Posner and Big Sean
A pleasant reminder of old school hip-hop, Posner lends this one catchy melody with strong bass beats, while Big Sean brings in the accompanying rap that sets the mood for this groovy track. Another fun collaboration between the two best friends.

    14. Best Day of My Life – American Authors
Adding one more reason for indie’s soaring popularity that shone through in the Grammys, this one comes with peppy lyrics and background vocals accompanied by an up-tempo rhythm that stays in your hum much after the song has ended. A great tune to wake up to, we say.

    15. Say Something – A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera
The subtle notes of the piano greet you as this soulful ballad glides smoothly on. With lyrics that are sure to touch a chord, the vocals are powerful yet soft. Aguilera goes backs to what she does best with this touching account of trying to save a love that’s nearly lost.

    19. XO – Beyonce
The perfect Valentine’s special, the full-throttle of Beyonce’s vocal power is rendered in this single from her self-titled fifth studio album. The mid-tempo pop track with touches of the electronic beat will certainly have your fingers strumming the wheel as it climbs the charts to be a notable pop anthem.
