In the dystopian future, the world is a simulated reality called Matrix shared by intelligent machines and human rebels. One of the rebel hackers, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) dies after being shot by a sentient machine ‘agent’, leaving fellow hacker Neo (Keanu Reeves) unsettled. Even as Neo realises the full extent of his powers, the sentinels are on their way to destroy their last refuge, Zion. Sean Connery was to be cast as The Architect, but he turned down the movie as he didn’t understand its concept.

Brothers Sonu (Sanjay Dutt) and Monu (Govinda) are always cooking up plots to rob their wealthy father, Seth Amirchand (Kader Khan). To make them more responsible, Amirchand sends Sonu to Goa and Monu to Mumbai. But Sonu falls in love with a girl there, and calls Monu to help him win over her family. However, Monu ends up falling for her sister. Things get messy when the duo are accused of murder. Kapoor’s mother Babita and grand-uncle Shashi Kapoor starred in a 1968 movie of the same name.
Son of the Mask

An aspiring cartoonist, Tim Avery (Jamie Kennedy), gets hold of the mask of Norse god Loki, which gives anyone who wears it extraordinary powers. Thanks to it, Tim ends up ‘conceiving’ a son with the god’s powers. Meanwhile, Loki has been instructed by his father, Odin, to bring back the mask. But when he meets the smaller but equally-potent version of himself, will his super powers match up? The only actor from the prequel, The Mask, to reprise his role was Ben Stein, who plays Dr Arthur Neuman.
Adventures of Tintin (Animated/Comedy), HBO Hits, 6.15 pm

Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his dog Snowy buy the model of an old ship, Unicorn, at an outdoor market. Ship collector Sakharine (Daniel Craig) attempts to buy the model from Tintin, but fails. So he has Tintin kidnapped and sent aboard SS Karaboudjan, under the custody of Captain Haddock, but not before Tintin discovers the model contains a clue about a hidden treasure. The treasure is none other than an old ship that was once captained by Haddock’s ancestor. This is the first non-Pixar movie to be awarded the Golden Globe Award for best animated picture. However, the Oscar went to Brave.
