But when Jenny turns four, her wealthy upper class father resurfaces, wanting to start a relationship with her. Torn between the two starkly different worlds of her parents, Jenny has to make a decision that could change all their lives forever. Though it received mediocre reviews, Midler won a Razzi award for worst actress for the film.

When she refuses, he threatens to murder her father, forcing Lisa to make a choice. Hall found it challenging to keep a straight face when Affleck would direct in his full costume.

    Based on true experiences narrated in his memoir, the film follows African-American Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), who is abducted and sold into slavery. A free man working as a violinist and living with his wife and children, his life is turned upside down when he is forcibly shipped to New Orleans to work for plantation owner William Ford. He is violently reprimanded when he tries to assert his rights as a free man. Eventually he is sold to the sadistic Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender) where he stays for a decade. Will he survive to reunite with his family? The hard-to-watch lynching scene was filmed at a tree that was actually used for lynchings, and is now surrounded by memorials to murdered slaves.

    The film tells the story of legendary Greek half-god hero Hercules (Kellan Lutz). His obsession with Hebe, princess of Crete, who is betrothed to his brother, unravels him, ultimately leading to his exile, where he discovers his true identity. Calling upon his divine strength, he must fight his way back to the kingdom that banished him. Lutz was cast for the title role just weeks before shooting began, so adopted a special ‘caveman crash diet’ to help make his abs more prominent.

    Boy meets girl, but the happily-ever-after seems far away, when Punjabi Krish (Arjun Kapoor) and Tamilian Brahmin Ananya (Alia Bhatt) have to persuade their parents that their match is made in heaven. After graduating from IIM-Ahmedabad, the pair decides that the best way to bring their families around is for Krish to move to Ananya’s hometown, Chennai, to take up a banking job. While his efforts at tutoring Ananya’s younger brother win him some support, it proves trickier for Ananya to make a good impression in Delhi when faced with Krish’s dysfunctional family. Ananya is styled as a girl with both traditional and modern heritage, and her Indian fusion outfits in the film were designed by Manish Malhotra.

    This is the story of a classic dreamer, Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller), whose job as a negative assets manager at Life magazine bores him, but a crush on co-worker, Cheryl (Kristen Wiig), keeps him going. Mitty works with photojournalist Sean (Sean Penn), who sends Mitty a new set of negatives and a wallet as appreciation for his work. But the no 25 image, that is to be used as the cover, is missing. Mitty discards the wallet and ends up all the way in Greenland, hunting for both the image and the photographer. But the journey turns out to be about more than a missing picture. In reality, the entire shoot which was meant to be Greenland, was shot in Iceland.

    Alex (Ben Stiller), Marty (Chris Rock), Melman (David Schwimmer) and Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith) are trying to get back to New York and, instead, their adventures take them across the pond to Europe. Hot on their tail is Captain Chantel Dubois (Frances McDormand), an animal control official, whose aim is to add Alex to her collection of stuffed animals. The lot join a travelling circus as a facade to allow them entry back home. They rope in the other zoo animals Gia (Jessica Chastain), Vitaly (Bryan Cranston) and Stefano (Martin Short) and try to get their act together. The monkey troupe is called King of Versailles, a reference to King Louis XVI, whose wife was Marie Antoinette. Hence the car’s plate reads EAT CAKE, referring to her famous speech during the French Revolution.

    A film that chronicles the life of boxer Mary Kom (Priyanka Chopra), it sees her struggle in what is considered a man’s game. It follows the five-time female World Boxing Champion and Olympic bronze medallist from her childhood—when she hid the fact that she wanted to be a boxer—to winning her maiden championship in 2008. Documenting the trials and tribulations she faced, as a woman, a mother of two, recovering from a blow to her face and coming back to win, Mary Kom throws light on the personal life of the champion. Chopra got her first credit as a playback singer for the song Chaoro, a lullaby in the film.
