Vidya Balan’s versatility knows no bounds. After path-breaking roles in The Dirty Picture and Kahaani, and then playing a boisterous Punjabi in Ghanchakkar, Balan is soon to begin work on Bobby Jasoos in which she plays India’s first lady detective!
Now Bobby Jasoos is not to be confused with Ranbir Kapoor’s home production called Jagga Jasoos, which allegedly stars Katrina Kaif. But besides playing a detective, Balan is also performing her role as brand ambassador for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and is the template and voice for the avatar of Draupadi in the forthcoming animated film Mahabharata.
Directed by Amaan Khan, the other star voice and characters are Amitabh Bachchan as Beeshma, Ajay Devgn as Arjun, Sunny Deol as Bheem, Anil Kapoor as Karna and Manoj Bajpayee as Yudhishtir. The latest animated version of the epic tale is expected to release around Christmas this year. This adds another feather to Balan’s cap and gives her one more potential release this year after the rescheduling of Shaadi Ke Side Effects to 2014.
