Offering off-beat experiences, four Bengaluru-based founders, Sumit Khandelwal (32), Manoj Agarwal (33), Abhishek Kumar (32) and Kushal Agarwal (26), started the gifting portal giftxoxo.com, with offices in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Mumbai in 2012, and are now 30 cities strong. Giftxoxo’s vouchers offer choices from over 300 brands like Jabong, MakeMyTrip, Dominos, Cleartrip, Louis Philippe, and Big Cinemas. “The bulk of our buyers are from 25-40 (age group). We focus on making sure that what they see on our website is what they get,” says Manoj, who handles product strategy, marketing and HR for the portal. With websites like excitinglives, flipkart, groupon and wittygift already in the fray, the three year old giftxoxo.com raises the bar with their recent acquisition of Yipeedo (the web-app to discover and book leisure activities). Subsequently the team is also developing their mobile app Frogo that is at the beta testing stage. On the B2B front, the portal boasts of over 600 corporate clients, including giants like Cadbury, P&G, and Axis Bank. “One of our best selling options are horse-riding sessions in Bangalore, with a barbecue included,” says Manoj who was earlier handling the marketing for gifting at Flipkart.
Gixtxoxo’s shopping vouchers offer discounts on brands and portals like Amazon, Jabong, Marks and Spencer, Louis Philippe and Bluestone this Diwali. Getaway options include Breathing Lumious Moment (`8,000), a package containing activities like a holiday in Kasauli.
