The Progressive Brothers talk about their international and dream collaborations
Glocal Junction celebrates ‘No-shave November’ with their Movember initiative. As part of this fixture, Delhi-based EDM DJ duo Progressive Brothers are set to perform this weekend. Sunny Sharma and Karan Bhalla started out back in 2011, and are now veterans at touring all the circuits and playing all the big festivals. They tell us about their music and more.
What will set this gig apart?
Every club, concert or college show will always be different from each other. For our Bengaluru show, we will be playing a set that’s a mix of big room, house, pop and trap music. We love to experiment with different styles and sounds.
What’s your music all about?
We think our music has always been very modern. Through our music, the message we are sending to people is that you can be wild and carefree, but responsible at the same time. Our aim is to make radio-friendly songs that people can relate to.
Your thoughts on getting picked up by Tiesto’s label, Black Hole Recordings?
It happened in 2012, when we had just signed our first single, Veda, in
collaboration with Dutch DJ Richard Durand. After that, there was no stopping us. We did two official remixes on the same label for Russian electronic music project Moonbeam and German-Scottish DJ Andy Duguid. Our next single, slated to release on December 7, is on South American DJ Chuckie’s label Dirty Dutch.
Rs 1,000 for couples and stags. Tomorrow, 9 pm. At Indira Nagar.
