Citibank Restaurant Week returns to town for its fourth edition, starting today
FOODIES are in for treat. Citibank Restaurant Week begins today and runs until September 28. Pick from a list of 28 of the city’s top restaurants, make a reservation online, and enjoy a three-course meal for a fraction of the usual rate (`900 upwards). “What we’re offering is a fabulous meal at a fantastic price,” says Nachiket Shetye, director at Desi Restaurant Week Events, who has been organising these restaurant weeks in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai since 2010.
For this latest edition, look out for restaurants making their debut, including Lavelle Road’s deli-bistro Glass House, ITC Gardenia’s Italian restaurant Ottimo, and Indiranagar’s Asian gastro bar Fatty Bao. Those re-joining the line up include Memories of China at Vivanta by Taj, MG Road and Zen at the Leela Palace. “We take selection extremely seriously, taking on board inputs from food critics and bloggers,” says Shetye.
“We also don’t take on a new restaurant unless we have eaten there and can personally vouch for it,” he shares.
For the first time, diners will be able to substitute their main dish, on the specially created menu, with the restaurant’s signature dish, at a nominal extra cost. “We wanted to offer regulars an extra reason to participate in Restaurant Week,” explains Shetye. If you do attend, be sure to leave your comments on the food, ambience and service. “We take feedback extremely seriously to make each edition even better than previous ones,” he concludes.
