Director: James Gunn
Cast: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista
This film has been called Marvel’s riskiest film and for good reason. It’s not every day that you see four aliens fighting to save the world from a monster. With A-list actors, extraordinary CGI effects, a tight storyline and sufficient humour, this movie is worth a watch. And for all you Marvel fans, stay back to catch the short clip post the credits roll.
Cast: Akshay Kumar,
An Akshay Kumar film through and through, this one is replete with slapstick humour, gags and jokes that are sometimes unnecessary. For the better half of the film, Akhil Lokhande (Kumar), the son of a billionaire, is trying to kill his father’s dog, named Entertainment, because it inherits the large estate. But when Entertainment outwits him, he chooses, instead, to protect the pooch
from his crazy family.
Director: Karthik Subburaj
Cast: Sidharth,Lakshmi Menon
The film is about what a debutant director experiences when he tracks the activities of a real life gangster to make a feature film on him. The first half is engaging and racy. The second part goes on an unpredictable track, slackens and diverts (a Bowfinger touch here), but compensates with its high humour quotient. It could have been trimmed to a crisper length. Simha is exciting to watch as Sethu. Sidharth plays the director with cool efficiency. It’s a refreshing gangster saga.
