A new place in the city with the right balance of grub and tipple
SBX, a new sports bar in Marathahalli, is an eclectic mix of food, beverage and entertainment with its broad menu, foosball and pool tables and projection screens.
Making a start
We dived straight into a cocktail sampling a a Kevin Pietersen a gin mixed with peach, and Messi magic a a heady mix of tequila, triple sec, orange and pomegranate juice that was truly refreshing . Then, a classic cosmopolitan that was spot on.
To keep our hunger pangs at bay, we started on the hearty tandoori style nibbles like murgh malai kabab a flavoured with strong Indian spices, chicken satay a chicken skewers with the usual peanut dipping sauce, and what turned out to be our clear favourite a JD Buffalo Wings a Jack Daniels flavoured chicken wings.
For vegetarians, we suggest the honey chilli potato a crisp-fried potato, tossed in honey chilly and garlic, with just the right amount of spices and seasoning. We were also advised to try phadi paneer tikka and the dragon roll which are some of their bestsellers.
Since the appetisers came in generous portions, we could barely manage a main course. But we went with the pizza polo a a thin-crust pizza topped with roast chicken and onion, and flavoured with cajun spice.
The place is easy on the pocket and the menu has enough variety to keep everyone happy. Plus, a cheerful ambience.
