At its first exclusive store in the city, Address Home marries domestic linen with international decor.
SIX years after city-based furniture chain Spacewise started retailing home interiors by Delhi-based Address Home, the latter is opening a 1,500 square feet exclusive showroom at Rutland Gate in Nungambakkam tomorrow, with its complete range of linen products and imported home decor. “Chennai does not have many options for luxury home accessories apart from Good Earth, which sports more of an ethnic and modern Indian look in its products. On the other hand, Address Home products are more Western and contemporary,” says Aparna Philip, owner of Spacewise. Address Home, founded by Rajat Singhi, has a total of 11 stores in the country, and is well known for their range of linen products like cushions and bedspreads, made in-house at their manufacturing units in Delhi.
Compared to the website, the store stocks more products, we learn. “The e-store has a limited number of items in each category, while the showroom stocks everything from the brand, including vases, bath accessories, lamps, lights, mirrors, serving and dining pieces, glassware, candles, etc. There are also limited edition collections of linen products like table mats and cushion covers that get updated with new colours every season,” she shares. With regards to the wide collections of bed accessories, Philip says that Chennai is now more aware of how to dress up beds, hence the demand for quilts and matching cushion covers. “Large mirrors and couches and matching contemporary decor with bold wall colours are other trends that I have noticed in the city,” she concludes.
Prices from around Rs 600 to Rs 60,000.
