Luxury footwear brand, Language, has a new word in its book – ostrich. The exotic leather is the star of their new range of shoes that targets the confident man with a fierce passion for exclusivity. “Language Exotic is a limited edition exotic leather collection,” says Kuldeep Singh, head of design, Language. “Each piece is uniquely handcrafted and each shoe is an entity on its own because the leather comes with mild variations that makes it all the more attractive. No two pieces are ever the same.”
The new collection, which comes in deep brown and deep black, is available in two designs: the classic derby lace up and the penny saddle slip-ons. New designs can be expected in spring/summer 2014. Language also has deer skin and eel skin lace ups. The brand took time in tapping into ostrich leather because they first had to meet and abide by many international environmental and ethical rules while sourcing the leather. But now that they’ve got their feet wet, Singh is confident of the collection’s success. “It’s a classic that will always be in style and has timeless appeal,” says Singh.
The ostrich leather shoes are priced very competitively. And in India, the collection is currently available only at the Language store in Chennai. However, if ostrich leather shoes have piqued the ladies’ interest, we have some disappointing news: there aren’t any options as yet for women.
