    From pesto to sundried tomato, this Lebanese dip just  got more interesting

    Two hours.“That’s the oldest your hummus will ever be when bought from The Hommus Family,” says Anolii Mavani. The 23-year-old who is a self-professed addict to the chickpea dip, started this novel venture from home less than a month ago.

    Interestingly enough, Anolii ditched a potential career as a nail technician after a course in New York to pursue hummus and happiness.“I fell in love with hummus by chance when I visited my brother in Dubai for his graduation,” she recalls.

    When she returned to Chennai, recreating the classic blend out of her Kilpauk kitchen quickly led to experiments with combinations like olive, jalepeno, sundried tomato, spinach and feta, and her personal favourite, pesto.

    Currently, there are eight flavours on the menu, that can be ordered along with a classic or zaatar pita bread, or if you’re in the mood for some crunch, freshly baked crackers. The latter comes in flavours like parmesan, paprika, rosemary or a healthy multigrain option. And may we just say, she ‘nailed’ it.
