    Tackle thyroid problems with celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar and her new book

    She got a lot of women who were on a celery-stick-only diet to eat real food with her national bestseller Don’t Lose Your Mind, Lose Your Weight. Now Rujuta Diwekar is back with yet another insightful work, The PCOD – Thyroid Book, which tackles hormonal imbalances and thyroid problems that stem from an unhealthy diet. “I felt we needed to bring in clarity about PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) and a drug-free way to deal with it. For the book, I have incorporated my personal experience in dealing with the condition as a professional nutritionist since 1999,” says Diwekar, whose book consists of four broad sections. Talking about various aspects of PCOD—including nutritional requirements, sleep and relationship strategies to cope with it, and a final section on exercise—it is aimed at paving a medicine-free life for her readers. Also aimed at helping young working women chart a balanced and healthy lifestyle, her myth-busting tone continues in her fourth book as well. “My rules are simple. I would urge readers to grab a banana instead of a mocha (which can mess with the sleep cycle, a prime cause for PCOD) during office breaks,” concludes the author, who’s also working on a new book, called Indian Superfoods.
