Hosted by dance and mime artist Drupad Gaonkar, the two-day event will have conversations and discussions on varied subjects like photography, design, art, culture, health, food, philosophy and travel.

Canvas memories

Head to DakshinaChitra to check out paintings by Tiruvannamalai-based artist Ananda Kumar.

His collection titled Glimpses of Thiruvanamalai has 45 watercolour paintings which feature the hills, temples and festivals of the region.

It also commemorates the Karthikeya month as celebrated in his hometown.

Build with bamboo

Bring out the builder in you at Auroville Bamboo Centre’s bamboo construction workshop, where you get to know everything about the tropical woody grass.

Architect Suraj Trivedi will engage in practical and theoretical demonstrations of making bamboo structures like wall panels, roof trusses and hyperbolic domes.

Martial matters

Auroville-based capoeira group, Ginga Saroba, is back with the second edition of its series of three-day workshops.

Interested participants above the age of 14 will be instructed by founder of the group, Samuka da Índia, who will demonstrate the various movements in this Brazilian martial art form, to be performed in sync with music.
