Dating app Matchify.in promises women privacy and security
Introducing itself as India’s first women-centric dating app, Matrimony.com launches Matchify under a separate wing. “We wanted to empower women to make choices and thought it would be a good idea to have specific features that give them comfort, safety and privacy,” begins Sai Chitra, the business head. The app comes with a host of women-friendly features to give them complete control—including verified profiles, secure chats that only women can initiate (men can chat when there’s a mutual like), control over profile viewing and an option to report abuse or block users. They also have a one-way video chat for women as a cool new upcoming feature.
Including a self-updating algorithm, the app is powered by a self-learning engine. “The matches are shown based on basic preferences. The member can either match it, ignore it or view it later. The more you use it, the engine learns user behaviour and keeps fine-tuning the criteria,” explains Chitra. And for those who would like to keep the groom hunt under the radar, there is an option to to hide your profile from your Facebook friends, too. “By ensuring a secure and robust platform for smartphone users, we are trying to make it easier for like-minded people to forge serious and meaningful relationships,”says Chitra, adding that Matchify is also working on acquiring more users via social media and digital campaigns.
