PepperTap’s entry into the city last month comes at a time when the hyperlocal delivery app segment is gaining momentum. With apps like BigZop and Good To Go being launched this year (in Gurgaon and Delhi respectively), and e-commerce giants joining the fray—Amazon’s Kirana Now and Flipkart’s f Qck (in testing)—we zero in on the latest.
PepperTap: The Gurgaon-based company’s app, which launched late last year, not only delivers groceries but also household items, organic products like tulsi ginger tea, red poha, and more. With a total of 5,000 unique products, it offers cash on delivery service. Available for Android and iTunes. Details: shop.peppertap.com
Ola Store: Cab service company Ola launched their Ola Store in Bengaluru last month—with a range of over 12,000 products that also includes sweets, snacks, frozen food and pet care products. Kirana Now: Launched in March, Amazon’s app is a separate section on its parent website and app. Similar to their US-based service, Amazon Fresh (2007), it lets you choose from a range of 20 product categories, including dried fruits, spices, chocolates, organic cold pressed oil and more. But you do need to sign up on the website. First time users will get an Amazon gift card worth up to Rs 200. Details: amazon.in
Grofers: Over 20,000 items are listed on Delhi-based Grofers’ delivery app, launched earlier this year. From grocery and bakery items to frozen meat and medicines, it also gives you an option to write to them if an item you seek is not listed. Also compatible with mobile wallets like PayUmoney and MobiKwik. For both Android and IOS. Details: grofers.com
