    Three quick lunch menus newly launched in our central business district

    We decided to check out the promise of quick yet substantial lunches geared to the busy office goer during the week. So first we dashed across to chef Antonello Cancedda at Alba, where his menu covered soups, salad, starters and bread served buffet style and mains and desserts that came to the table off a table da��hote menu. Substantial it certainly was starting with egg drop chicken or creamy broccoli soup, a flawless caprese and smoked salmon-pear and goata��s cheese salad that went well with the breads, cheeses and a glass of virgin sangria.
    Tucking in
    For the mains, we enjoyed a chicken cacciatora, flavoured with herbs but choices also extend to lasagne, herb-crusted chicken, risotto and tenderloin, changing by rotation. Dessert was cheese cake topped with berries, and chocolate mousse with a divine chunk of cake nestling in it. The lunch is priced at `990, all inclusive a�� a price worth the midday rejuvenation.
    The elegant fine dining Indian restaurant Riwaz at the Ritz-Carlton has opened up for lunch as well with two express menus you can choose from. We started with a perfectly made shammi kebab elegantly plated, then a bowl of nalli nihari with a creamy dal makhni and a basket of rotis on the side and ending with a wedge of kulfi. You can opt for chicken biryani served with a flaky layer of pastry instead as your main dish. Downstairs at the Lantern, the unlimited dim-sum menu is followed by a choice of mains and dessert. Both options will work nicely for the time conscious diner and come at `1,200.
