SPS Guhan, cinematographer-producer of off-beat entertainers (Madurai -Theni Vazhi Aandipatti and Sanikizhamai Saayangalam 5 Mani), turns director-actor with
Muyal. He plays a photographer in the action thriller, sharing frames with Saranya Nag and Yogan. “It’s a crowd-funded film with photographers, videographers, their friends and families, and some of the public contributing to it, too,” says Guhan of the film that is set to release today.
Seven days later
Shot in London, Yaavum Vasappadum is a crime thriller that depicts the happenings of a week. Directed by London-based Puthiyavan Rasiah (who’d earlier directed the Sri Lankan-based film, Mann), its cast and part of its crew is made up of Tamils settled abroad. The film’s London-based producer, Sripath Bobby, also plays a crucial character in it. Vijith and Dilpikaa, who play the lead, are based in Canada and France respectively. It is scheduled to release today.
The shoot of 8mm has wrapped up and the film is all set to hit theatres shortly. Debutant Nirmal, a US-based dentist who has acted in a few short films, plays the lead, with Divya as his romantic pair. Directed by Ameen, the action suspense thriller is produced by a team of Malaysia-based Tamils. ‘A journey full of adventure’ is one of the captions for the film.
