With shooting wrapped up and its music released at a function recently, Andhaman is all set to hit theaters shortly. Directed by debutante Adhavan (a former assistant of Jananathan), the plot centers on a man’s attempt to create awareness related to environmental issues and the need for a safe earth. “It will be a total entertainer with a social message,” assures Adhavan. The film hopefully should be a game changer for Richard Rishi, lead actor in the film, who is yet to get a strong foothold in films.
“I’ve tried to depict the plight of folk artistes in today’s times,” says Kadhal Sukumar about his weekend release Summave Aaduvom. The film starring Arun Balaji and Leema, centers around a group of folk-artistes who in dire need of money, decide to make a film. “It’s a humorous light-hearted take on the theme,” adds the comedian-turned-director. This is his second venture after Thiruttu VCD.
All set to hit theatres this weekend, Onbadhilirundhu Pathuvarai, stars Kathir and Swapna Menon (who has starred in a Malayalam film with Mohanlal). The film marks the directorial debut of Vijay Shanmughavel, who had helped script various language films. “While the first half is a breezy road trip with humour and romance, the second half will take the thriller route with twists and turns,” informs the director.
