(From left) Shaam, Vijay and Vidharth

    Late entry
Shaam, whose career has been on the rise since his impressive performance in 6 Candles, is now a part of the Purampokku cast. The actor shares space with Arya and Vijay Sethupathy. While the other two  are teaming up with director Jananathan for the first time, it’s Shaam’s second outing with him—after Iyarkai.

    Box office drama
Some of Vijay’s more successful films were made with Supergood Films. Now, after several years, the duo is back with Jilla, which releases today. The USP of the film is Vijay teaming up with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who plays his father. However, it won’t be a bed of roses at the box office for the actor, with Ajith-starrer, Veeram, also releasing today.

    Five’s a crowd
Vidharth is pinning his hopes on Veeram. After his solo effort in Mynaa, the actor went unnoticed in his later films—though the multi-cast Jannal Oram did give him some mileage. Veeram, yet another multi-starrer, has him playing one of Ajith’s four brothers. Hopefully, this time around his role won’t go unnoticed in the crowd.
